Lone Star Pet Supply Inc. has promoted a new president and chief operating officer of the pet food distribution company.
Danny Selman’s promotion is effective Monday, Jan. 4. Selman first joined Lone Star in December 2000. He was promoted to director of sales in 2003. He became vice president and general manager in 2007. In his new role, he’ll manage all aspects of the company’s operations in Schertz.
“Danny has done a great job leading the company over the past several years,” says Chairman and CEO Dennis W. Stahl. “His role has evolved into increasing areas of responsibility. He’s done an outstanding job of improving operating efficiencies and has grown the business. He was instrumental in re-positioning our pet food business; and has developed some exciting new business opportunities.”
Lone Star is a privately owned regional pet food and pet supply distribution company. Founded in Schertz in 1952, the company stocks 19,000 items and ships products to stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Kansas. Lone Star also owns House of Pet Supplies, a national specialty distributor to boutique pet specialty stores.
